The right match starts with a few measurements and a little care. Because every character has a different shape, use the verified specifications on its product page as your guide.
Three measurements matter
Opening width
The widest part of the plant, root ball, or nursery pot must pass through the planter opening.
Cavity depth
The root ball or nursery pot should sit comfortably inside without being forced or rising too far above the opening.
Nursery-pot size
Choose an inner pot smaller than both the listed opening and interior cavity. Leave enough room to lift it out for watering. Measure the actual pot, including its rim.
Choose a plant
Compact succulents, small cacti, air plants, and rooted cuttings can work well when their mature size, light needs, and watering needs suit your space. Always follow the plant's own care requirements.
Use a nursery pot when possible
A removable nursery pot makes watering, drainage, and plant changes simpler. Take the inner pot out to water it, let excess water drain completely, then return it to the planter.
Check drainage before watering
Drainage varies by character and is listed on each product page. If a planter has no drainage, use a removable nursery pot or suitable liner. Water outside the planter and return it only after dripping has stopped.
Protect the surface
Water, soil, and condensation can mark wood and other delicate surfaces. Use a saucer, coaster, or waterproof barrier and wipe spills promptly.
Gentle cleaning
Remove the plant or inner pot first. Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, harsh chemicals, prolonged soaking, dishwashers, and extreme heat.
